Planted Seat Bracket - Ford Mustang (1979-1998) - Driver/Left
The Planted driver-side seat bracket fits the 1979-1998 Ford Mustang Fox body and SN95 platform. It lets you bolt an aftermarket seat to the factory floor points. It is 3/16" laser-cut steel, hand-welded and pre-slotted for most major slider patterns, which makes it a strong base for drag, road course and street builds.

Disclaimers:
- Seats come in many different shapes and sizes, so not all seats will fit in all vehicles. It is up to the end user to determine if the seat will fit before ordering the seat bracket and other components.
- Many vehicles have the steering wheel offset toward the center of the vehicle. This can be accentuated when installing an aftermarket seat of a different size than the factory seat.
- Replacing a factory seat with an aftermarket seat may cause the vehicle's warning indicators to activate. This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor, but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work and which resistor to use.
- Professional installation is recommended.
Whether it's a Fox body drag car, a road-race SN95 or a street car that's finally getting a real seat, the factory Mustang seat tracks aren't built to carry an aftermarket bucket. Planted's driver bracket bolts to the factory floor points and gives you a rigid, vehicle-specific base without fabricated plates or drilled floors.
Planted develops each bracket against the actual floor of the car. This one is laser-cut from 3/16" steel, hand-welded for full weld penetration and finished in black powder coat. Three quality-control checks happen before it ships. It's noticeably stiffer than thin stamped universal brackets, which matters once you add a harness and sticky tires.
The top plate is pre-slotted for Recaro, Sparco, OMP, Cobra, Corbeau, Momo, NRG, Racetech and most other major slider patterns. There's extra material to drill a less common pattern or to bolt a side-mount seat directly and delete the sliders. This is the Standard bolt-pattern bracket, so it includes the Recaro slider pattern. Wide Cobra and Scheel-Mann sliders need one hole on each slider elongated by 1/8".
This is the driver/left bracket, sold individually. Check your seat's width against the Mustang's cabin and the transmission tunnel before ordering, and remember that the steering wheel offset can be more noticeable with a narrower seat. Professional installation is recommended.
